So, first off I want to apologize for the last podcast. I’ve listened to it a few times now and I can’t believe how much incorrect information we were shoveling out, especially regarding Hobo with a Shotgun.

Anyway, I wanted to clear a few things up and give you some real information and links to the movie that’s currently the highest on my most anticipated list.. except for Expendables 2, and perhaps the Moon Knight movie.

Hobo with a Shotgun is directed by fellow canadian Jason Eisener. He’s from Halifax and this is his first feature film. From what I’ve gather, he’s done a few other feature length movies, but all with $0 budget.

His Hobo story is pretty darn cool. He entered a competition a few years back at SXSW.com asking for Grindhouse trailers. He wrote the script in an evening, and started filming the next day. It took 6 days, about $60, and in the end he had about double the footage he needed to make the original Hobo trailer. He won the competition and got it featured in the Grindhouse movie.

Fast forward years later and he was given the go ahead to turn Hobo into a feature length film, and pulling in some big names. The original Hobo (David Blunt) had actually never acted before in his life, so while they were able to cover that in a short trailer, they had to bring in some pros for the big show… and that pro is indeed Rutger Hauer.
