How am I supposed to sleep for the next month now? In a recent interview with a german paper, Arnold was talking about his return to acting.
*sigh* And yes, that was a sigh of happiness. It’s about god damn time !!!
He mentions he’s been looking at a few scripts, including the infamous “With Wings as Eagles.” The script for this has been floating around for a good ten years, and Arnold’s interest and name have been tied to it for almost as long. It’s looks like the perfect for Arnie’s return.
The script centers around an older German soldier who is ordered to kill a bunch of kids at the end of WW2, but instead defies the order, rescues them, and then has to get them to safety. Hey, it ain’t no King Conan, but the possibility for action is high even though we can almost gurantee he’ll die at the end.
He also describes looking at two other unamed scripts. I’m reaaaaaaaalllly hoping one is the rumoured Crusader movie he has been contemplating for years and years and years, and I would have to assume the other one might be Expendables 2. I wouldn’t be upset if it was True Lies 2.. although he might be getting a bit on in his age for that role.
Arnold’s been buds with James Cameron for a good 3 decades, who knows.. there might even be a part in the Avatar sequel(s?). As much as I wasn’t a big Avatar fan, Arnie would be the best thing that could happen to a sequel. I’ll also say this now.. no one is allowed to bring up Batman and Robin..
